I would highly reccomend Melissa to anyone interested in a pet cockatiel. I looked her up online when wanting to adopt a hand-raised whiteface baby cockatiel. After seeing her ad, we set up a meetup date and came to visit. Never have I met such well behaved, healthy birds! Melissa was happy to provide health information, background, and show the bird's living quarters. After some thought, I decided to purchase a cinnamon pied whiteface from her. The cockatiel came with a packet of various foods, a basic care sheet and even a beautiful sketch. We took her home, and named her Tiki. Tiki was well-behaved, quiet and friendly from the start, and the vet gave her a clean bill of health. To this day she is my constant companion. She is a very people oriented bird who will stay glued to your shoulder, and even enjoys nuzzles and head scritches. I believe this is a testament to the early socialization and care given to her by Melissa before coming home. My experience with Melissa and her birds has been nothing but positive, and if I ever want to purchase another cockatiel I will come back to her first!

I am SO GLAD we found Melissa! We found her on the internet when I did a search for lovebird breeders in NJ. Melissa responded right away and advised that she had baby lovebirds getting ready to hatch in a few weeks. She sent us a picture every week from their birth until they were weaned and we were able to go and pick one out. Our little baby lovebird is SO BEAUTIFUL. She is a wonderful bird, and I'm so grateful to Melissa for taking such good care of the birds. It's wonderful to see how she cares for each and every bird, and knows just what they need. She even followed up with me the next day to see if I had any questions. To all that is interested in purchasing a bird, there is no better place than Melissa's Birds. I had a fantastic experience from day one after contacting Melissa. Melissa is very knowledgeable, honest and courteous. She replies to emails in a timely manner and answered any questions I had.
The bird I purchased from Melissa was a male baby Green Cheek Conure. When I went to pick my baby Conure, I saw that all of Melissa's birds are well taken care of. They all had many toys and were kept in a clean and healthy environment. The baby Conure I purchased was so tame and accustomed to people, he instantly wanted to play and be held. He is so gentle and has the most outgoing personality.Upon leaving, I was given a gift bag with food and treats my bird was weaned on. A DNA certificate was also provided. If I ever need to purchase another bird I would contact no other place but Melissa's Birds.

We got 'Wobbles' from Melissa in late January after our other Lovebird passed away. I was anxious to get another Lovebird to ease our pain. Melissa made sure her baby was weaned and ready before leaving her home to come to ours. My daughter and I literally counted down on her calendar when our new bird would come join us!
Wobbles is a joy - absolutely tame, friendly, healthy and sweet plus has a delightful & funny personality. We all look forward to uncovering her in the morning to start our day! I don't think you can do this with all birds, but Wobbles (she is clipped) comes with us to the bus stop daily, to the park, plays with us in our back yard and has play dates with my mom's Lovebird. She is just amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better bird : ) I'm a bit biased, but I think Lovebirds make wonderful pets - even for a child's first pet. Besides their big personalities, they are easy to take care of and Melissa's don't bite (just nibble sometimes) due to how much she handles and interacts with them as babies. You also get to enjoy the sounds of spring year round!

I began corresponding with Melissa by email three weeks before I picked up my male cockatiel, Peri. I quickly went to meet Melissa and the baby birds and it was an anxious wait after that. Melissa was quick to respond to all of my emails, and as a first time bird owner, gave me thorough answers and useful tips. Peri is a sweet and friendly cockatiel that often accompanies me on my shoulder throughout the house and even when we drive up to my parents’ house an hour away. After the first week of getting to know each other he is my little best friend. He imitates me and loves to be pet. I heard about Melissa from my yoga instructor, and both her and I purchased baby cockatiels. After emailing Melissa a few times, I became comfortable that she knew what she was talking about, and that she genuinely cares about her cockatiels. I brought home my new bird on a saturday morning, and by that night he was completely comfortable with me. I've never met a cockatiel so friendly or so beautiful. I definitely recommend her for first-time buyers as well as previous bird owners. If I ever need another bird, I know exactly where to go. :)

My mom and her friend Mariam decided to buy cockatiels. I was going to have a pet. So my mom emailed Melissa and we knew that Zeus was meant for us. We went to pick him up around 5pm and he was fine. Even after we got him Melissa sent us tips. If we ever need another bird we know where to get a healthy, beautiful, and well behaved cockatiel.
